AT&T Opens New Hickory Store

Area Veterans Organization Receives $2,500 Contribution

HICKORY, NC, Dec. 6, 2018 — AT&T* is expanding its involvement in Hickory, opening a new store and bringing seven new jobs to the community.

Today marks the official grand opening of the new store, which is located at 2910 N. Center St, Suite 103 and is the second AT&T-owned store in Hickory.

To celebrate the grand opening, the company is contributing $2,500 to support the Foothills Veterans Stand Down and other programs of the Veterans Transitional Advocacy Board (VTAB).

“It is always exciting when a business expands in our community and brings new jobs and opportunities for our citizens,” said Hickory Mayor Hank Guess, “We’re a growing, dynamic community and this new store shows AT&T is committed to investing in Hickory.”

We recently announced plans to add more than 1,000 new store locations nationwide, including hundreds in small and mid-sized towns. The Hickory store is one of the first to be opened under this initiative.

“With many retail transactions increasingly taking place in the online world, it is great to see companies investing in a local, personal retail presence, said Lindsay Keisler, IOM, President & CEO of the Catawba County Chamber of Commerce. “That commitment helps our community continue to be economically vibrant and to grow. I also want to express my gratitude to AT&T on behalf of our local veterans for their generous contribution to the Foothills Stand Down.”

The VTAB is the host non-profit agency for the Stand Down and for the Foothills Veterans Helping Veterans initiative. Its mission is to assist homeless or needy veterans in the western North Carolina region.

“Our company has a long heritage of helping communities to grow and also supporting the men and women of the armed forces,” said Kathleen Evans, regional director of external affairs for AT&T North Carolina. “Today, we have the privilege of doing both, along with making it more convenient for customers in the region to do business with us.”

The new store will enable customers to interact with the latest wireless products and services, receive assistance with their current device or account or learn more about AT&T’s entertainment and high-speed Internet offerings.
