Dear Friends,
I’m excited by our recent announcement that in an effort to help meet growing consumer demand, we have invested nearly $700 million in our Kentucky networks during 2014-2016. These investments drive a wide range of upgrades to reliability, coverage, speed and overall performance for residents and businesses throughout Kentucky. They also improve critical services that support public safety and first responders.
In 2016, we made more than 800 wireless network upgrades and a host of enhancements to our wired network that powers home and business high-speed internet connectivity throughout Kentucky, including:
396 bandwidth expansions.
412 additional carrier adds to improve the quality of coverage by increasing data speeds.
27 new cell site builds to expand wireless coverage.
11 LTE overlays on existing cell sites to increase coverage and signal strength.
We now market our ultra-fast internet service powered by AT&T Fiber to more than 50,000 customer locations in the Louisville area.
We have also began deploying fiber to homes to offer residential services in Bowling Green, Georgetown, Hopkinsville, Richmond and Stanton, and in areas around Bardstown, Paris, Corbin and Winchester.
In addition to the investment in our network, we are also investing in our workforce by expanding retail and technician positions in Frankfort, Louisville and Shelbyville. On Tuesday, May 9, we’ll be holding a priority hiring event from 10 a.m.–2 p.m. at our Louisville retail store located at 3014 Bardstown Rd. For more information, visit att.jobs/GetHired.
It’s an exciting time at AT&T Kentucky, and I am proud of the thousands of employees who work every day to engineer, build and maintain the infrastructure that delivers our high-speed services and keeps Kentuckians connected.
Sincerely,
Hood Harris
President — AT&T Kentucky
