“Our vision for Charlotte is a diverse and inclusive community which offers opportunities for success for all,” said Mayor Vi Lyles. “Access to modern infrastructure, such as broadband technology, helps ensure that those opportunities do not depend on a person’s ZIP code. Private investment in building our community has long been a key to Charlotte’s success and I am excited to see AT&T continuing that tradition.”

“For decades, AT&T has been deploying fiber here in Charlotte, first in our backbone network and now in local neighborhoods throughout the city,” said Venessa Harrison, president of AT&T North Carolina. “This extensive fiber deployment is part of our commitment to deliver ultra-fast internet that keeps residents and businesses connected and helps attract the new jobs, investment and innovation that will keep Charlotte growing.”

Communities in Charlotte are among the 9 million locations across 71 metros nationwide where our ultra-fast internet service is currently available. We plan to reach at least 14 million locations across at least 84 metro areas by mid-2019.
