AT&T is continuing its long-standing support for military veterans and local communities by contributing $100,000 to Team Rubicon in North Carolina
A nonprofit disaster response organization, Team Rubicon rapidly deploys trained disaster response teams, free of charge, to assist communities struck by natural disasters. The teams are primarily made up of military veterans, but also include first responders and other skilled volunteers. Of the nearly 70,000 Team Rubicon volunteers nationwide, nearly 1,600 are in North Carolina, and Team Rubicon has a goal to reach 9,500 in the greater Raleigh area.
AT&T’s contribution is part of a national $1 million commitment to Team Rubicon that included funding for immediate disaster relief in the wake of the most recent disasters, as well as funding for recruitment, training and support of new volunteers around the country.
While Team Rubicon’s primary mission is providing relief to those affected by disasters, the organization also seeks to provide our veterans with 3 things they lose after leaving the military: a purpose, gained through disaster response; community, built by serving with others; and identity, created by joining a new mission.
